The
peacefully winding waterways of the pristine Malingsbo-Kloten
Nature Reserve is home to one of the most remarkable
mammals of the taiga eco-system, the Beaver. Have you
ever seen a Beaver? Did you know that its nest can be
as tall as a human and that it can cut a big tree with
itīs bare teeth? Join us for a genuine safari tour and
meet this fascinating Engineer of the forest.
As the day comes to an
end and dusk falls we enter our canoes and paddle down
the river silently not to disturb the wildlife. Our
sharpened senses and intense search for any trace of
Beaver eventually takes us to one of itīs well camouflaged
nests. The scenery is idyllic with lush trees and a
black water mirror. Suddely ripples break the flat surface.
The next moment a wet little creature appears on the
shore right in front of you, the Beaver has arrived
for itīs evening feeding!
The silent river eventually
leads us to a traditional forest farm house where we
are invited to enjoy a steady dinner. The Malingsbo-Kloten
Nature Reserve is known for itīs sparsely populated
woodlands, many untouched lakes and rich wildlife. And
the long sun hours of the light Nordic Summer will enable
us to enjoy every moment of this eventful journey
